I use a variety of techniques to work with individuals across the age, gender, and socioeconomic spectrums. I take a partnership approach to counseling, which I bring an objective, non-judgmental view of a client's life, and experience in counseling psychology; while a client brings expertise in him, her, or themself (we can talk for as long as we want and I will never know what is in a client's head and heart as well as they do). We combine our expertise to find solutions that work for each
Relationships are unique and can be complicated and difficult in and of themselves. Add in life stressors like careers, children, and the activities of everyday life, and maintaining a relationship can become even more difficult; it is easy to lose touch with one's life partner or to treat a relationship (intentionally or notas a second (or lower) priority in one's life. This can result in feelings of loneliness, anger, resentment, feeling unheard, unappreciated, and even to infidelity.

Tele-therapy (or on-line counseling, e-counseling, remote counseling, etc.) can be useful for people who cannot get to an office (or just to my office) for a variety of reasons. While it is not for everyone, many people find it to be as effective as in-person therapy (it has also found to be effective in many studies). If you are interested in on-line counseling, please contact me to discuss the pros, cons, and whether it is a good solution for you.
Many people suffer with a belief that they are not "good enough", "worthy", or "deserving of good things" in their life. This kind of deep-seated belief can lead to maladaptive thought processes which effect people in a variety of ways, including causing or worsening anxiety, anger, and depression and and effect decision making processes in adverse ways that can limit a person's in multiple aspects of their personal and professional life.
Excessive anxiety is a disorder that can cause a range of symptoms and behaviors. It is usually based on a feeling or belief that one is not safe in their life or the world generally. That belief is often the product of life experiences. I work with clients to test the validity and origins of those "unsafe" beliefs and help them to let go of those beliefs, to change their lives so the beliefs are no longer valid, and/or to better cope with them in the interim.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a much-studied and proven technique which was originally developed for treating trauma. It is, however, very flexible and can be used to give relief from disorders other than trauma. I have successfully used EMDR with clients who have suffered with (or from) abuse, assault (including rape), auto accidents, claustrophobia, anxiety and self-esteem issues, among others.
